Teilhardism and the New Religion

  • Product Description: Teilhardism as such has been largely forgotten, but the seductive ideas of Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955), masquerading as scientific, continue to fuel the New Religion which is rapidly eroding away and replacing the true Christian faith all over the world. Teilhard claimed that Catholic doctrine has been rendered untenable by the findings of modern science-particulary with regard to evolution-and that it must therefore either change or become obsolete. Dr. Smith demonstrates this to be a fraudulent charge by showing firstly, that Darwinian evolution itself is but a conjecture and indeed a now-crumbling one, and secondly that there is no scientific basis whatsoever for Teilhard's celebrated Point Omega, his so called God of Evolution, which proves to be a gratuitous, self-contradictory, and thus completely untenable notion. Dr. Smith concludes that science neither demands nor authorizes the sweeping changes in Catholic doctrine that Teilhard calls for in its name.
